Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Weekend Supervisor to oversee operations at our machine shop during weekend shifts. The Weekend Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring smooth workflow, maintaining quality standards, and managing a team of machine operators and technicians.

Responsibilities

    • Supervise and coordinate all activities within the machine shop during weekend shifts.
    • Ensure that production schedules are met and that deadlines are achieved without compromising quality standards.
    • Assign tasks and responsibilities to machine operators and technicians based on workload and skill levels.
    • Monitor and evaluate machine performance to identify issues or inefficiencies, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
    • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and machinery to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
    • Train new employees on machine operations, safety protocols, and quality control procedures.
    • Enforce company policies and procedures to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
    • Collaborate with the production manager and other supervisors to optimize workflow and resolve any operational challenges.
    • Communicate effectively with team members to provide guidance, feedback, and support.
    • Maintain accurate records of production activities, inventory levels, and equipment maintenance schedules.
    • Participate in performance evaluations and provide input for employee development and training programs.

Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is preferred.
    • Proven experience working in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.
    • Previous supervisory or leadership experience is highly desirable.
    • Strong knowledge of machining processes, tools, and equipment.
    • Familiarity with CNC machines and other automated manufacturing systems.
    • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
