DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PURCHASING MANAGER

In this Purchasing Manager role, you are critical to the operation and growth of a rapidly expanding technology company. You will collaborate with our world-class engineering team to source and procure commercial and fabricated components for our robotic systems. This will require you to have excellent skills in selecting, developing, and maintaining vendor relationships. You will also work closely with our inventory and production teams to ensure that materials are on hand for prototype and production builds. In collaboration with our parent company's accounting department, you will assist with tracking job costs, project budgets, and spending forecasts. In addition, you will work with our leadership and engineering teams to help our growing business navigate our changing procurement needs. You will be consulted on the best solutions for supply chain management and process development to address the needs of our business as we grow. By leveraging your communication, organizational, and technical skills you will ensure the business procurement needs are met so that we can deliver world class technologies to our customers. You will play a major role in the continued operational success of the company while having the freedom to shape the supply chain landscape to meet the business needs of the future.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PURCHASING MANAGER

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or related field
  • 5+ years of professional procurement experience
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to:
    • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate orders
    • Work with engineers to source commercial and fabricated components
    • Ability to analyze project costs and provide purchasing forecast reports
    • Utilize ERP, MRP, and PLM systems
  • Experience in the following areas:
    • Sourcing components for prototype and production systems
    • Developing and following procurement and material management workflows
    • Job costing and reporting
    • Microsoft Office 365
    • Desired: Jira, Confluence, Slack, MISys, Viewpoint
  • US work authorization, no visa sponsorship (including OPT extensions from F1 visas)
