DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR


In this Senior Systems Administrator role, you are critical to the operation and growth of a rapidly expanding technology company. In collaboration with our parent company's IT department, you will spend a dedicated portion of your day servicing IT requests from staff as well as monitoring and maintaining production systems. In addition to the support and maintenance of our critical systems, you will be working with our leadership and engineering teams to help our growing business navigate our changing IT needs.


You will be consulted on the best solutions available to address business needs and requirements during design stages, and act as a technical lead and project manager for the IT-related portions of those efforts during execution. By leveraging your communication, organizational, and technical skills you will ensure the business selects the correct solution for a given need, and successfully implements the solution to the satisfaction of the stakeholders. You will play a major role in the continued operational success of the company while having the freedom to shape the IT landscape to meet the business needs of the future.



QUALIFICATIONS FOR A SENIOR SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR


  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5+ years of IT support and administration experience
  • Be able to demonstrate the ability to:
    • Ensure service reliability of existing infrastructure
    • Plan, review, implement complex technical solutions
    • Coordinate with stake holders regardless of department or background
    • Work as part of a larger corporate IT team towards common goals
  • Experience in the following areas:
    • Implementing, migrating, and supporting critical business applications transitioning to cloud platforms (Office 365/Atlassian/Private Cloud)
    • Maintaining on-prem and cloud-hosted server infrastructure (Windows/Linux/VMware/Docker)
    • Facilitating a growing network infrastructure with evolving needs
    • Supporting highly technical users with complicated workflows and issues
  • US work authorization, no visa sponsorship (including OPT extensions from F1 visas)

Safety Sensitive Position:


This is a Safety Sensitive Position requiring work in a heavy manufacturing facility with various safety hazards which are potentially life-threatening to the employee.
